‘Where is Abhijeet?’: CJP seeks Dipke’s release ahead of grandmother’s last rites on Sunday
In a post on X, CJP urged the authorities to allow Dipke to speak to his family, saying they deserved at least an opportunity to talk to him.

NEW DELHI: “Where is Abhijeet?” The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Saturday questioned the whereabouts of its founder, Abhijeet Dipke, saying his family wanted to speak to him ahead of his grandmother’s last rites, scheduled for Sunday morning.In a post on X, CJP urged the authorities to allow Dipke to speak to his family, saying they deserved at least an opportunity to talk to him. The party also demanded the immediate release of all detainees.“His family wants to talk to him, they’re going to perform his grandmother’s last rites tomorrow morning. The least they deserve is to talk to him,” CJP said, adding, “RELEASE ALL DETAINEES NOW.”In another post, the party alleged that 10 hours had passed since Delhi Police detained Dipke and two other CJP leaders, Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das, but their whereabouts remained unknown to the party.“WE STILL DON’T KNOW WHERE THEY ARE, WE HAVE NO CONTACT WITH THEM,” CJP said, questioning where the three leaders were being held and how such detention could be justified.The three leaders were detained by Delhi Police from inside an aircraft after their flight from Mumbai landed in the national capital on Saturday, ahead of a planned protest at Jantar Mantar demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.What Delhi Police saidResponding to claims on social media that Dipke had not been informed about his grandmother’s death while in detention, Delhi Police said the information had been conveyed to him promptly and sensitively.In a post on X, the police said Dipke had also been informed about the scheduled time of the funeral and offered assistance to facilitate his travel to his hometown on humanitarian grounds.“The information regarding the demise of Abhijeet’s grandmother was promptly conveyed to him with due sensitivity,” Delhi Police said, adding that all possible assistance had been offered to help him travel home.The police also said the information about the death and the funeral timing had been shared with Dipke immediately.CJP, however, continued to question the whereabouts of the detained leaders and demanded their release.
