NEW DELHI: Two people were detained by the Mumbai Police from the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend an event, police said.According to the police, one of the detained individuals claimed to be an official from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). The man, reported to be 24 years old, was accompanied by a bodyguard who was carrying a gun.A firearm was recovered from one of the individuals, police said. The Mumbai Crime Branch is conducting further investigation into the matter.“The Mumbai Police detained a man at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in BKC who was claiming to be an official from the Prime Minister’s Office. The detained man is reported to be 24 years old. He was accompanied by a bodyguard who was carrying a gun,” Mumbai police said, as cited by news agency ANI.PM Modi is scheduled to attend the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2026 in Mumbai, where he will inaugurate the seventh edition of one of the world’s largest and most influential annual fintech conferences.The GFF 2026 is scheduled to be held from September 8 to September 11.Since 2020, the GFF has emerged as an international thought-leadership platform, bringing together policymakers, regulators, central banks, financial institutions, fintech companies, technology firms, investors, academia and other global stakeholders to discuss the future of finance.
