Nvidia commits $3 billion to Meta's new share offering and expands work on Zuckerberg's Muse AI assistant, which can connect to users' email and calendar apps, as the two tech giants deepen their partnership

Nvidia is reportedly putting $3 billion into Meta’s equity offering, anchoring a wider agreement between the two tech giants to jointly develop Meta’s “Muse” artificial intelligence (AI) assistant and refine the software running behind it. As per a report by news agency Reuters, the investment forms part of an enormous capital drive by Meta, which raised the target for its latest equity offering on Tuesday to $97.5 billion, which is the biggest fundraising campaign in the company’s history. Notably, the capital influx is set to fund Meta’s AI infrastructure buildup even as it pours billions into specialised data centre campuses and advanced chips to stay competitive with rival AI developers such as OpenAI and Anthropic.

Meta-Nvidia to mark deeper alliance on ‘Muse

Beyond the financial backing, Tuesday’s (October 27) agreement ties Nvidia’s hardware closer to Meta’s software ecosystem. Meta’s Muse models and autonomous agents already operate on Nvidia infrastructure but with the new collaboration aims to boost performance and control computing expenses.Referred to internally as “Hatch,” Muse serves as the focal point for CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s vision of bringing “personal superintelligence” to the billions of daily active users across Meta’s apps. The assistant is modeled on the open-source agent framework OpenClaw and is built to integrate deeply into everyday digital routines.Looking ahead, Meta and Nvidia noted they may also look into expanding collaboration around Nvidia’s OpenShell framework. This effort could include deploying software in secure environments and utilizing a specialised tool called “Sentry” to track and monitor the behavior of autonomous AI agents.

Inside Meta’s record capital plan

The massive $97.5 billion target represents an upward revision, when Meta first unveiled blueprints to raise up to $95 billion while keeping Zuckerberg’s majority voting control intact. As originally outlined, the financing package is split across two core mechanisms – roughly $35 billion issued in common and preferred stock, and a separate share sale program valued at up to $60 billion.Meta said the larger, $60 billion leg will roll out only after its newly established, non-voting Class C shares begin trading publicly, which is expected to occur in the first quarter of 2027.Nvidia’s $3 billion commitment highlights intense interest from Meta’s core hardware vendors. Key semiconductor partners, including Nvidia, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and Broadcom, have been in talks to jointly pick up as much as $5 billion worth of Meta’s voting Class A shares.
