Parents, when your child refuses to greet relatives, do you make them say hello or respect their choice?

In 2008, Lopez welcomed twins Max and Emme with then-husband Marc Anthony. Since then, they have grown up with a famous mother, around her busy schedule and a lot of public attention. Emme even joined her on stage at the 2020 Super Bowl, and both twins have stood beside her on red carpets.Yet behind the glitter, home life has often been simple. Now that the twin duo is all set to move to college, Jlo opened up on her upcoming journey as the boys move out; she also revealed her pro tip on raising kids.

Jennifer Lopez says kids learn more from what you do than what you say

Jennifer Lopez appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in an episode during June 2 along with Betty Gilpin. Lopez was asked how to make sure children do not grow up spoiled, as she reflected on raising her 18-year-old twins, Max and Emme, in the spotlight whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony. She simply said that children copy actions, not speeches, adding, “They do what they see you do.” Lopez admitted she is trying to pass on every lesson she has learned before the twins leave for college. “So it’s not so much what you tell them all the time,” revealed Lopez. “Even though I’m trying to download everything I’ve ever learned in my life, every lesson I’ve ever learned, to them right now before they leave in August, I still feel like who you are as a person, how you act, what they see you do, if you work hard, they become more hard workers.“

Lopez revealed that even though her kids want to carve out their own paths, they pick a parent’s good qualities

Lopez also said her kids do not always admit it. They often say they want to carve out their own identities, while still unconsciously picking traits they have learned from her, “They mimic you in this weird way and learn from you even though they will act like they’re opposite you,” she continued. “Because my kids [are like], ‘I don’t want to be anything like you, I want to have my own path.’They see this persona as such a thing.” She further added, “But I also see them like mimic…not mimic, but just pick up things that are the good traits about you.”

The twin duo has now moved to college

Time has moved on since that interview. According to Hola, the twins graduated from high school earlier this year, are heading to separate colleges, and Lopez celebrated her 57th birthday on 24 July before taking them on a trip to Rome.According to a Hello report, they have officially moved into college dorms, and Lopez said she has been crying and looking at baby pictures.
