Work-life balance is a topic that often gets people talking, and a recent Instagram video has added a humorous twist to that conversation. An Indian professional living in Japan has gone viral after using sarcasm to describe the “problems” of working there. Instead of complaining about office pressure, he joked about workplace benefits, leaving many social media users amused and starting a discussion around work culture.
Indian man shares his experience of working in Japan
The man, identified as Ajay Pandey, shared the video on Instagram, where he spoke about his experience of working in Japan for the past 11 years. In the video, Pandey jokingly said that working there was “extremely difficult” because he had to visit the office only three days a week. For the remaining two days, he could work from home.He also spoke about weekends and said there was no overtime. As a result, he jokingly said he had no option but to spend his weekends going camping or enjoying bike rides.
His manager never calls on weekends, he joked
Pandey continued the video with another sarcastic remark about his manager. He said he was frustrated because his manager never called or even thought about him on weekends. He added that for the past 11 years, his manager had been “friend-zoning” him every weekend. He jokingly said that at least once in a while, he should be called to work because every weekend was getting wasted.
Overtime and bonuses became part of the humour
He also spoke about overtime, saying that even if he requested it, approval came only with great difficulty. However, once it was approved, he was paid for every 15 minutes that he worked.Pandey then compared workplace bonuses in Japan with the Diwali gifts that employees in India often receive.According to him, there was no proper Diwali bonus, not even a box of laddoos or a pen. Instead, employers simply gave employees a bonus equal to two or three months’ salary. He ended the video by saying that he was completely fed up with working in Japan.
Social media users enjoyed the joke
The video received plenty of reactions from social media users, with many saying his sarcastic complaints actually sounded like a dream job.One user commented, “He is suffering from success.”Another wrote, “Japan Is Best.”A third user added, “You are living my dream life.”Disclaimer: This article is based on a viral social media post.
