At the same time, he was trying to navigate the complicated process of getting the boys enrolled in school.Without legal guardianship, even something as basic as registering them for the new school year became difficult. Strangers step in

The money is helping with everyday expenses, household necessities and the costs that come with caring for two growing children. Funds may also go toward legal assistance as Restifo works through the process of seeking guardianship.The support has already begun changing the family’s circumstances. Restifo expects the home to have running water and electricity again and is working toward getting the boys back into school. Plans also include buying them new clothes and shoes.

Restifo’s gutter business has received renewed interest, potentially providing another source of income as he works to create greater stability for the household.
