A Flydubai flight travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv was diverted while flying over Saudi Arabia on Wednesday after signalling an emergency, according to flight-tracking data and Israeli security sources cited by news agency Reuters.The aircraft initially transmitted the international emergency code 7700 before sending code 7500, which indicates hijacking or unlawful interference. Israeli Air Force fighter jets were scrambled towards the aircraft, according to security sources.Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held emergency consultations over the incident, Israeli officials told Reuters. The aircraft was expected to land in Saudi Arabia, where the situation would become clearer. Around 180 passengers were reportedly on board.
