‘He is perfect now’: Amit Shah skips Karnataka events after food poisoning

NEW DELHI: Union home minister Amit Shah suffered from food poisoning while on a visit to Karnataka on Saturday and skipped scheduled events in Hubballi and Belagavi, senior BJP leader and Union minister Pralhad Joshi said.Shah was scheduled to inaugurate the new academic building of KLE Jagadguru Gangadhar Mahaswamigalu Moorusavirmath Medical College and the 1,200-bed KLE Hospital and Medical Research Centre in Gabbur, Hubballi. He did not attend the programme, with KLE Society chairman and former Rajya Sabha MP Prabhakar Kore saying Shah had stayed at his hotel on doctors’ advice after developing health issues, news agency PTI reported.Joshi later said Shah had suffered food poisoning and was “perfect” now. “Naturally, due to vomiting from food poisoning, he had some weakness,” he said.Shah’s scheduled visit to Belagavi district was also cancelled. He was due to inaugurate the new headquarters building of Sri Beereshwara Cooperative Credit Society in Examba in Chikkodi taluk.
