CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR: A video showing a First AC coupe of the Mumbai CSMT-Balharshah-Nandigram Express, decorated like a ‘honeymoon suite’, has prompted disciplinary action by the South Central Railway, which suspended the travelling ticket examiner on duty and ordered an inquiry into the incident.Railway authorities said the incident occurred at the Jalna railway station on July 6, where a couple travelling in a booked First AC coupe had got the compartment decorated with balloons, flowers, rose petals and an “I Love You” message.“The travelling ticket examiner (TTE) at Jalna has been placed under suspension and an official inquiry into the matter is also ordered. It appears that the couple had taken help of an event-styling service to decorate the coupe. The TTE should not have allowed the firm to board the train,” said A Sridhar, SCR chief public eelations officer.The video, which was widely circulated on social media, drew mixed reactions, with some users questioning security and supervision on trains, while others jokingly referred to the service as the “Honeymoon Express”.When contacted, Azar Shaikh, the proprietor of the event styling service, said he was unaware that decorating the train coupe would lead to the suspension of the TTE. “The couple knew one of my friends and placed the order after seeing our advertisement on social media. The couple travelled by car from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to Jalna. We decorated the train coupe and left the railway station before the couple arrived,” he said.Following the circulation of the video, Shaikh was summoned by the Railway Protection Force on Wednesday evening.“The decorator’s entry into the coach at Jalna station was unauthorised and is viewed as a serious lapse. Further, the decorator has been booked under the extant provisions of the Railway Act 1989 for unauthorised entry into the train, boarding without ticket and indulging in trespassing, “ Sridhar said
