FARIDABAD: Crime Branch DLF team of Faridabad police arrested a woman and her alleged lover within 24 hours of the murder of her husband in Mojabad village under Tigao police station.The deceased was identified as 42-year-old Shyamveer. Police identified the arrested accused as Keshav, wife of the victim, who is a resident of Hathras district in Uttar Pradesh, and Kamat, a resident of Mahoba district in Uttar Pradesh.During a press conference, ACP (Crime) Aman Yadav said Kamat used to stay with Shyamveer at his house in Mojabad and was in a relationship with Keshav. Shyamveer had come to know about the relationship, following which he would drink alcohol and quarrel with his wife, police said.According to the police investigation, Keshav and Kamat allegedly planned to kill Shyamveer. On the evening of August 16, Kamat allegedly made Shyamveer consume alcohol and, after he became intoxicated, struck him on the head with an interlocking tile, killing him.Police said Keshav locked the door from outside during the assault to prevent the sound from being heard. After the killing, Keshav and Kamat allegedly buried Shyamveer’s body in a pit near the house and covered it with soil.The case came to light on August 24 after the Faridabad control room received information that a person had been buried in the ground in the Tigao police station area. A police team reached the spot and, in the presence of the duty magistrate, recovered the body.On the complaint of Shyamveer’s brother, Rambir, a resident of Dhadhu village in Hathras district, police registered a murder case and began the investigation.The Crime Branch DLF team arrested both accused within 24 hours, police said. They will be produced before a court on Wednesday for further legal proceedings.
