Caitlin Clark had the perfect response to a tense moment with DiJonai Carrington on Sunday night. The Indiana Fever guard scored 37 points, hit a career-high eight 3-pointers and added 10 assists as Indiana beat the Chicago Sky 113- 90. Clark and Carrington exchanged words during the second quarter, but Clark had the bigger answer on the scoreboard. The loss also ended Chicago’s playoff hopes.

Carrington appeared to tell a referee that Clark had flopped after contact and made a gesture showing an exaggerated reaction.Clark then created space for her familiar stepback 3. She knocked it down to put Indiana ahead 36 34, and the two players exchanged words while heading back down the court.The moment added another chapter to the growing tension between Clark and Carrington. Their history goes back to 2024, when Carrington was playing for the Connecticut Sun and poked Clark near the eye during a game.There was also another heated meeting between the teams on August 8. Carrington was ejected after a hard foul on Sophie Cunningham during a fast break. The foul was first called a flagrant 1 before being upgraded to a flagrant 2. After the game, Carrington posted “WHITE PRIVILEGE” on X, adding another layer to the controversy.This time, though, Clark kept her focus on basketball. Carrington finished with seven points in 18 minutes as Chicago struggled to keep up with Indiana’s offense.
