CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Tuesday questioned why ministers, education department officials, principals and teachers send their children to private schools instead of government institutions, saying government schools would improve rapidly if they had confidence in the system.“All those working in the education department, including Ministers, officials, principals and teachers, should enrol their own children in govt schools. Then watch how quickly our govt schools magically improve,” Dipke tweeted.“Why do all of them enrol their kids in private schools? Do they not trust their own work?” he added.Dipke’s remarks came a day after repair work began at a government school in his native village of Santuk Pimpri in Maharashtra’s Hingoli district, following his inspection of the campus and complaints about inadequate basic amenities. The 30-year-old activist had visited the Zilla Parishad-run school on August 15 as part of his outfit’s ‘School Thik Karo’ (Fix Schools) campaign. After attending the Independence Day flag-hoisting ceremony at the school, Dipke inspected the premises and pointed out broken window panes in classrooms and a lack of other basic facilities.Following his visit, the local gram panchayat swung into action and ordered repair work at the school. In another post, Dipke called the suspension of the school principal the “first big victory” for villagers of Limbala in Hingoli district.“The alcoholic principal has been suspended. I would like to dedicate this win to Abdul and his father,” he said.Dipke also quoted Abdul as saying, “Ab rukna nahi hai, school theek karke hi rahenge” (Now we must not stop; we will ensure the school is fixed).
