The bodies of two yoga instructors from Jharkhand, who lost their lives in a road accident in Vietnam are likely to reach their home state on Saturday, officials told news agency PTI.Sikha Lakra, who heads the Jharkhand Migration Cell under the Labour Department, said the bodies are expected to reach Kolkata by Friday evening. From there, they will be taken to Jharkhand by ambulance.“The bodies are expected to arrive in Jharkhand on Saturday morning,” Lakra told PTI.According to PTI, the deceased have been identified as 24-year-old Raja Kumar of Ranchi and 25-year-old Vinay Kumar Rai of Jamshedpur. Both were working as yoga instructors at Adi Yoga Academy in Da Lat city, Vietnam. The two died on September 25, after their two-wheeler collided with a car.The families had earlier said they were unable to afford the cost of bringing the bodies back to India. Friends of the deceased and members of the Indian community living in Vietnam contributed money to cover the repatriation expenses, family members said.

The Jharkhand government announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh fo the family of each deceased, once the bodies reach the state.Raja’s father, Umesh Verma, an electrician, said his son had been supporting the family while working in Vietnam.“On September 25, we got an information that my son died in an accident. He had last visited Ranchi two-three months back. We want his mortal remains to be brought back at the earliest,” Verma told reporters on Wednesday.Vinay’s father, Ramesh Rai, said the family was waiting anxiously for his son’s body so that the last rites could be performed.He said Vinay’s friends and members of the Indian community in Vietnam had pooled funds to facilitate the repatriation.Vinay had travelled to Vietnam around two years ago, his father told PTI.(With inputs from PTI)
