Patrick and Brittany Mahomes’ charitable work through their 15 and the Mahomies foundation has addressed various needs across the Kansas City community, from food insecurity to food allergy education.Through separate partnerships with Pete’s Garden, Shelter KC, and Food Allergy Research & Education [FARE], the foundation has wholeheartedly supported families with meals, community resources, and practical, reliable information designed to make day-to-day life safer, better, and more manageable. The initiatives emphasize that access to food involves much more than putting a meal on the table. For some families, the challenge is food insecurity. For others, specifically those managing food allergies, navigating meals safely can require valuable education, public awareness, and trustworthy support.
Patrick and Brittany Mahomes’ 15 and the Mahomies foundation supports students while providing hundreds of meal servings
In partnership with Pete’s Garden, the 15 and the Mahomies foundation supported a heartfelt initiative that brought culinary education and community service together back in April 2025.At Manual Career Technical Center in the Kansas City Public School District, culinary students sincerely prepared 500 servings of Lentil Ragu over Pasta for approximately 125 local families served by Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City.“When students realize they can cook a meal that feeds a community, something changes,” said Tamara Weber, Founder and Executive Director of Pete’s Garden. “By equipping educators with the tools and resources to lead impactful service projects, we’re building a movement of young leaders who understand the power of food to create change.”The insightful effort was part of Pete’s Garden’s Kids Feeding Kids program, which provides high school students with real-world, hands-on experience planning, preparing, and packaging family-sized meals. The service-learning opportunity also familiarizes students with serious issues surrounding food insecurity and food access within their own communities. The sagacious collaboration generated a dual impact: families received prepared meals, while young culinary students grasped real-world experience and a rare opportunity to use their developing skills in service of others.“Sitting down as a family to a healthy and wholesome meal is something Brittany and I really value,” said Patrick Mahomes.“But too many Kansas City families are struggling to get a wholesome dinner on the table. We are proud to support Kids Feeding Kids and help make mealtime easier for these families while also engaging students in a meaningful community service experience.”
Patrick and Brittany Mahomes’ Thanksgiving partnership with Shelter KC
For 75 years, Shelter KC has been a haven for Kansas City’s homeless men and women. In November 2024, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes’ 15 and the Mahomies foundation worked with them to support Kansas City families dealing with hardship during the holiday season. The foundation made a $15,000 donation to support Shelter KC’s annual Thanksgiving Family Feast. The contribution was wholeheartedly intended to provide Thanksgiving dinners for over 200 Kansas City families in need. Shelter KC and foundation volunteers were scheduled to prepare meal boxes and help create a celebration day centered on food preparation, building connection, and community service. The Thanksgiving partnership mirrored the foundation’s comprehensive commitment to supporting children and families through initiatives concentrated on health, wellness, and community resources, while also helping extend Shelter KC’s reach during the festive time of year. When nobody deserves to be sad or in need of wholesome food.“We are incredibly grateful to 15 and the Mahomies foundation for this support,” said Shelter KC Executive Director Eric Burger.“Their partnership is an inspiring reminder that we are all part of the same community, responsible for lifting one another up. This donation ensures that families who may be struggling this holiday season will have a Thanksgiving meal to enjoy together, and a renewed sense of hope for the future.”
Brittany Mahomes brings food allergy education to Kansas City families
Food-related support has also become a crucial portion of the foundation’s work through its partnership with FARE [Food Allergy Research & Education]. The joint initiative, known as “15 and FARE,” was established to expand food allergy education, support, and resources throughout the Kansas City area.On July 18, 2026, from 1 to 4 PM, “15 and FARE” hosted a free Back-to-School event at the Kansas City Public Library’s Plaza Branch for Kansas City-area families managing food allergies. The afternoon event included a Top 9 allergen-free school lunch demonstration, an Ask-the-Expert panel, a kids’ fun zone, and other health resources. The free open-to-the-public event was designed to help families prepare for the new school year while addressing questions that can arise when children with food allergies return to cafeteria lunches, classroom activities, field trips, and extracurricular programs where their parents or caregivers are not by their side.“As a food allergy mom myself, I know how important it is for families to feel prepared and supported, especially during back-to-school season,” said Brittany Mahomes, food allergy advocate and 15 and the Mahomies co-founder.“For parents managing food allergies, having access to trusted resources and a strong community can make all the difference. 15 and the Mahomies is proud to partner with FARE to bring Kansas City families together for a day of learning, connection, and fun.”
