JAMMU: The water level of the Chenab river rose again in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday after authorities opened four gates of the Salal Dam to regulate increased inflow into the reservoir. The gates were opened following continuous rainfall in the upper catchment areas, which led to a rise in the inflow into the reservoir. The water is being released downstream in a controlled manner.Authorities are closely monitoring the reservoir’s water level and inflow conditions amid the continuing rainfall. The Salal Dam had opened multiple gates on Monday to manage the increased inflow and regulate the release of water downstream.
