BHOPAL: A group of men waylaid an engineer and his 26-year-old fiancee and led them into a roadside forest in MP’s Guna district late Thursday, where they allegedly gang-raped the woman and subjected her to brutal torture with a wooden stick besides thrashing and robbing the couple. Police formed an SIT to trace the perpetrators, who fled the scene.The horror unfolded near Hanuman Tekri shrine, about 25km from the district headquarters , when the couple was returning from the temple on a two-wheeler. Around 8pm, the group flagged them down near a petrol pump on the highway, claiming their bike had a flat tyre. The moment the engineer pulled over, the accused allegedly pounced on the couple, snatched the ignition keys, and forcibly dragged the duo into the nearby forest.
