A mysterious creature captured in camera-trap images near the US-Mexico border has sparked speculation after UFO investigator Jaime Maussan claimed it could be an unknown predator unlike any commonly found on Earth.Maussan alleges that the animal has been killing and carrying away chickens, roosters and rabbits in Mexico’s Valley of Juárez, a rural farming area along the Rio Grande.Images released by Maussan’s team on October 17 reportedly show a large, pale animal with prominent limbs and a long tail. Researchers working with him claimed it did not resemble common animals such as rodents, raccoons, rats or rabbits found in Chihuahua, the Mexican state where the valley is located, according to Daily Mail.During a press conference, four research assistants said they estimated the creature was nearly six feet long, including a tail measuring around three feet, after observing it climb over a large brick wall. The cameras reportedly captured it moving along the ground and climbing the wall, but did not record it walking upright on its hind legs, as Maussan suggested it could.Maussan described the creature as agile and intelligent, with some human-like characteristics. He claimed he began investigating the case after hearing reports from locals, including an account of a boy who allegedly saw the animal grab a chicken by the head and run up a nearby tree.Investigation calls it mysteryThe UFO investigator suggested the creature might not be extraterrestrial but could be an intelligence from another dimension. “Why did it appear there? It’s a mystery. Are they interdimensional beings? Are they beings who came with other beings? Did they come in ships?” he said.Maussan has previously faced scrutiny over claims involving extraterrestrial life. In 2023, he presented two purported “non-human” mummies to Mexico’s Congress, claiming they were evidence of alien life. The US government has said no physical evidence has been recovered to prove the existence of UFOs or extraterrestrial life. However, some US lawmakers, former military personnel and religious leaders believe sightings of unusual creatures could involve beings from other dimensions or planes of existence.
