NEW DELHI: Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Sunday criticised the Union government for not congratulating this year’s Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Navanethem “Navi” Pillay, a South African jurist of Indian origin. The Thiruvananthapuram MP took to social media to question the government’s silence six days after Pillay won the award.“It’s been six days since this remarkable woman of Indian origin (see her story, attached) won the #NobelPeacePrize. And the Government of India, her ancestral homeland, hasn’t so much as congratulated her?!
