Halki Bai, 58, a resident of Simariya village in the Tejgarh area, had brought her son, who was suffering from diarrhoea, to the hospital at night. After he soiled the floor, the nurse on duty allegedly handed her a mop and made her clean it herself. Her son has since been discharged after his condition improved with treatment.Congress state president Jitu Patwari shared the video on Facebook and questioned the state government and the hospital administration. He asked whether hospitals lacked cleaning staff or whether funds meant for sanitation were being lost to corruption.District hospital authorities said show-cause notices had been issued to the nursing officer on duty, the cleaning agency and the assistant hospital manager.Further action would be taken after an inquiry, they said. The hospital has around 52 outsourced cleaners and three supervisors.
